Church Membership
If you wish to join Immanuel Lutheran and you are a member in good standing of another Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod congregation, you may be received into membership through "transfer." We encourage you to attend the 12-14 week adult inquirer's class as a refresher and to help assimilate you into Immanuel Lutheran congregation.
If you are not a member of another Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod congregation, we require you to attend a 12-14 week adult inquirer's class. In this class we will explain what we believe, teach and confess about the Bible. We rejoice when people join Immanuel Lutheran, however, we want prospective members to study and examine God's Word. If a prospective member finds himself/herself in agreement with us, we welcome that individual into the family of Immanuel Lutheran through public announcement of such agreement.
After joining, you may partake of the Lord's Supper and receive a Christian burial through Immanuel Church. As a member, you are privileged to support the ministry of Immanuel Lutheran Church and School with your prayers, your offerings, your time and your talents. This is a short summary of how one becomes a member of Immanuel Lutheran. If you would like additional information or have questions contact Pastor Morris at his office (989)-354-3443 Ext.#17. |
