COOKIE DOUGH FOR SALE – 3 extra tubs of cookie dough are available to purchase, for $10.00 each, available 1-snickerdoodle, 1-dbl chocolate & 1-Lava cakes, see Mrs. K. in the school office.

 

CHURCH EXTENSION STAMP FUNDS Last Tuesday, $100.50 was collected for Church Extension Stamps.  This money will be sent to CEF bank. Once you fill up your stamp booklet and mail it to CEF your money will be deposited in your account.  The money is loaned to Churches and Schools for building projects.

What is Great Lakes Scrip?  GLS is a non-profit organization which provides money cards from national and local retailers which can be used in the store, gas stations, hotels, fast food, dine in and online.  Here’s how it works – You order a card at face value, let’s say you buy Shell Gas Card for $25.00, GLS keeps $23.00 and $2.00 goes to Immanuel School. A list of money cards is available in the school office or visit www.glscrip.com or you can purchase money cards at www.shopwithscrip.com and the enrollment code is CAD14CAB18437.

GLOWSTICK GIVEAWAY – 6th Annual Alpena Police/National City Bank FREE Halloween Glow Stick Giveaway on Sat. 10/31 from 2:30-4:30 pm at the Public Safety Facility on Chisholm or from 9-12pm at National City Bank on Ripley. Both parent & child must be present to receive a free high-visibility glowstick.

 

PICTURE RETAKE DAY WILL BE ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3rd, return your picture packet before Tuesday.

 

 

 

 

DRINK POUCH BRIGADE! Help Save the Planet by recycling “CapriSun” drink pouches.  Teaching our young children to be environmentally conscious and take proactive steps to help preserve the planet is an important part of life as we know it.  The TerraCycle Drink Pouch Brigade program will donate .02 cents for each drink pouch our school turns in.  There will be a collection box in the school lobby area and lunch room.  Together with your help we can make a difference.

 

PICTURE PERSON - Volunteers are needed to start the Picture Person program.  This is a monthly program that includes the study of an artist, sharing of their work, and an appropriate art project.  Materials, lesson ideas, and possible project ideas are supplied.  For more information, or to volunteer, please call the school office at 354-4805.

 

Red Cross Blood Drive - Immanuel Lutheran Church is sponsoring a blood drive at the Presbyterian Church, 1600 W. Chisholm, on Wednesday, November 11th from 12:00 – 5:45 p.m.  Won’t you please consider donating blood to help save lives?

 

H1N1 VACCINE CLINIC CANCELED Due to vaccine shortage, student will not be receiving the H1N1 at school.  There is a slim chance they may get more vaccines in by December. For more information, you can visit:

FOCUS ON PARENTING SEMINAR – On November 14th from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, the Fairview Mennonite Church is hosting Dr. Kevin Leman, Larry Fowler, Matthew West, Elisa Morgan and Mark Holmen together to offer wisdom about: equipping parents to know & serve God; learning together how to experience the beauty of God’s design for family; instilling Christ-like character in your children.  Registration Fee is $25.00(includes lunch), tickets available at the door or Immanuel Church office.  Rusty and Nancy Dewar will be coordinating a trip to the seminar.  For more information or carpooling contact them at 354-3743.
